Q: Are replacement parts readily available
in the United States?
A: Efun uses standard parts whenever possible
and these are available at many bike outlets and other retailers
across the U.S. The frame components are guaranteed by Efun
and we will do whatever is necessary to help you get your
bike back on the road.
Q: Is the folding mechanism safe?
A: Yes. The folding joints are designed with
built-in added strength to prevent stress failure. The locking
mechanisms that hold the joints together when unfolded are
designed with safety in mind.
Q: Is the bicycle difficult to fold?
A: No. There are only 5-7 steps and all bikes
can be easily folded in 30 seconds with little practice. In
fact, Efun’s Switchblade can fold in 3.8 seconds!
Q: Are any tools required to fold the bicycle?
A:  No,
every Efun bicycle has quick-release folding mechanisms that
do not require any tools.
Q: Is weight a major concern?
A: Not if you consider the total weight as
you ride. Some designers spend several hundred dollars to
reduce the weight of a bike by 200 grams (e.g. by choosing
a lighter weight material). However, they then defeat their
purpose by attaching a lock that weighs 350 grams to their
bike! A reasonable weight is acceptable for a strong bike.
Q: What features are important in choosing
a folding bicycle?
A: You should ask yourself: How you are going
to use it? What design features are important to you? Strength,
weight, size of the bike when folded, size of the bike unfolded,
seat comfort, riding comfort, safety, color, gearing, etc.
Besides cost and quality, dealer support is important too.
Q: What are the advantages of a folding bicycle
over a non-folding bicycle?
A: There are three primary advantages, which
are storage, ease of transportation and security. The compact
folding size allows you to store the bicycle in a very small
space. Once folded the bike is light weight and easy to transport.
Finally, a folding bike allows you to easily combat the high
rate of the theft of bikes by storing the bike in a secure
place, like in the house or the trunk of your car. This way,
you no longer have to worry about whether or not you have
an adequate locking mechanism.
Q: Is brand name important?
A: Yes and no. For the people who cannot
tell the quality of a product, the brand name is a guide.
Today, customers seem to rely on the dealer for product selection
and therefore, they buy products carried by a reputable distributor.
