Recumbent Bicycle
Recumbent bikes are more of a comfort bike because they
put the rider in the position of a recliner. The body’s
natural position is upright with a straight back and slight
arch. Keeping the back close to its natural position reduces
pain. On a recumbent bicycle the rider is in a relaxed position
with back support and front body pedaling. The seat supports
all the weight, therefore no arm and wrist strain. In addition
to a more relaxed ride, the recumbent bike helps blood circulation
in the legs. They are for persons who want a pain-free riding
experience without giving up speed. Recumbents take less
effort to ride at the same speed of a standard bike. An
added safety feature with recumbent bikes is a greater visibility
range because of the seat position.
